DIY Neumann U87i Microphone

More DIY…Today i show you a way to get an Neumann U87i (not Ai) for under 500 €. The difference between U87i and U87Ai is, that the „i“ got an output transformer what delivers more the vintage slightly compressed sound of an old condenser microphone. I like it very much, because you get on the headphone an instant fitting sound of the singer in the playback.
I made one for myself too and i needed 7h for soldering, measuring and screwing parts together. Unfortunatelly the france DIY page for this microphone is not selling it anymore (http://vintage-mic.com/en/), but you can find the parts on different other DIY sites.
